Therapy for Depression

When symptoms of depression take hold, life often feels exhausting. Some days (or most days), you might feel like you just don’t want to go on. While biological factors can influence depression, social and environmental conditions may also play a significant role. I believe there are always ways in which your experience makes sense. You are not broken.

Together, we can recognize the role that depression plays in your life and work to better understand its roots, which may include past trauma or experiences of oppression. We’ll validate the context of your experiences, including the reality of living in a world full of systems that cause harm to many. We can help you process past painful experiences and also address ongoing stressors that may play a role in your symptoms.

I know that experiencing depression can often be isolating and it may be hard to say how much you’re hurting out loud. If and when you feel ready to reach out, I’m here. We can take the next steps together.

Therapy for Bipolar Disorder

If you’re experiencing symptoms of bipolar disorder, finding balance and consistency in your daily routine might be a challenge. You may have many of your bipolar symptoms already well managed with medication, but may need additional support in building your awareness of and addressing any triggers of a manic or depressive episode.

I can help you to build daily rhythms, navigate unique challenges related to this diagnosis, collaborate with your psychiatrist, and work through any related (or unrelated) trauma. We’ll make space for the difficult parts of this diagnosis, while also honoring the strengths and resources that have gotten you through.

If this sounds like what you’re seeking, please reach out to explore the possibility of us working together.

Every time you think you are broken, know this: you are never really broken.

No one can break an ocean… all you are doing is breaking the glass that is holding you back, diving deeper into your own depths, discovering yourself in pockets of the most somber waves, rebuilding your heart with coral, with seaweed, with moon coloured sand dust.
